Seven Things to do Now to Prepare for the Conference

1. Request time off

The meeting officially begins with the Opening Reception on Wednesday, March 13, at 5:30 pm, but you may want to arrive on Tuesday to attend a preconference workshop. Do you need assistance in obtaining approval from decision-makers at your facility to attend the Annual Assembly? Use this customizable letter with which to submit your conference request.

2. Register early

Sign up early and pay for the 2013 Annual Assembly with 2012 funds. Several of the preconference courses have sold out in the past. Sign up today to reserve your spot.

3. Invite a colleague

Do you know of someone who has never been to the Assembly or hasn't attended in many years? This is the perfect time to introduce or reacquaint him or her with the expansive educational programs the Annual Assembly offers.

4. Explore scholarship opportunities

AAHPM and HPNA offer scholarships to help defray the cost of attending the meeting. Learn more at aahpm.org or hpnf.org.

5. Read the book

Read The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down: A Hmong Child, Her American Doctors, and the Collision of Two Cultures by Anne Fadiman and participate in the book club discussion on Saturday, March 16, at 12:15 pm.

6. Follow the conversation

Not yet on Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn? Set up your account now so you can begin to follow the conversation. Need help? Contact Jennifer Bose at 847.375.3688 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
