Access Scholarship Fund

The AAHPM Palliative Medicine Access Scholarship Fund exists to provide access to quality education for hospice and palliative medicine physicians, so that one day every American can have access to a properly trained palliative medicine physician.

This scholarship program is intended to facilitate Annual Assembly participation, will cover AAHPM/HPNA Annual Assembly* meeting registration and $350 toward travel expenses.
*Meeting registration does not include preconference workshops.

Eligibility

Scholarships are available to U.S.-based physicians currently working in the field of hospice and palliative medicine. All are welcome to apply and preference will be given to applicants who have not attended the Annual Assembly prior to application, who have demonstrated both a commitment to the field of hospice and palliative care and the need for scholarship funds to facilitate their attendance. Physicians who are selected to present an abstract or have membership on a committee or task force will also be given consideration.

2010 Assembly

The application deadline has now passed for the 2010 Annual Assembly. Applicants will be notified of awards by January 15, 2010

Donating to the Fund

Consider donating to the Palliative Medicine Access Fund to support scholarships for physicians to attend future AAHPM Annual Assemblies. There are two ways to make a donation:

  1. Mail a check to

  2. Call AAHPM at 847/375-4712 and use your credit card.

  3. Enter an amount to donate on the Annual Assembly Registration Form.

AAHPM qualifies for tax-exempt status under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code as a not-for-profit corporation. Donors are encouraged to consult their tax advisors for information about the deductibility of these donations.
