AAHPM Strategic Plan
In June 2011, members of the Board of Directors, strategic coordinating committee chairs and senior staff members met to review and update the strategic plan for the Academy. Market research was conducted by external consultants prior to the planning meeting – including a member survey and thought leader interviews. Each was summarized and distributed to attendees in advance. Meeting in retreat, the group discussed a set of assumptions about the relevant future environment; considered the current mission and purpose; developed a set of core values; envisioned a new future; created draft goals; assessed the conditions surrounding those goals; and prioritized those conditions as the basis for developing objectives to accomplish the goals.
