Annual Assembly Leadership Skills Development Workshops

Junior leaders in palliative care need a range of skills to develop successful careers. The College of Palliative Care will sponsor three discipline specific preconference workshops again at the 2009 AAHPM/HPNA Annual Assembly in Austin, Texas. These workshops are intended to help develop leadership skills necessary to advance practitioners careers and further the field of palliative care. Workshops will focus on defining and communicating career goals and structuring successful mentoring relationships, as well as other topics specific to each discipline.

All participants must pre-register for the workshops, scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2009, when completing their registration for the Annual Assembly. More detailed information on the individual workshops and faculty will be available Fall 2008.

Physician Leadership Skills Development Workshop intended for physician faculty in academic medical centers and hospices.

6 pm – 10 pm
Nurse Leadership Skills Development Workshop intended for advanced practice or senior experienced hospice and palliative nurses interested in clinical practice leadership skills development.

8 am – 5 pm
Social Work Leadership Skills Development Workshop intended for social work faculty and practitioners interested in palliative care.
