Five Things to Do Now to Prepare for the 2011 AAHPM/HPNA Annual Assembly in Vancouver

    1.    Obtain/renew your passport.

In recent years, the laws have changed regarding travel across national borders. To travel into Canada, you will need a valid passport. Getting your passport is easy, but requires some advanced planning. To ensure you receive your passport in time, be sure to send in your documents at least six weeks prior to your departure date. U.S. citizens and premanent residents, visit travel.state.gov for details. A driver's license is NOT accepted as proof of citizenship. For further information on who is eligible to enter Canada, visit: www.cic.gc.ca.

    2.    Request time off.

The meeting begins with the Opening Reception on Wednesday, February 16, at 5:30 pm, but you may want to arrive on Tuesday if you plan to attend a preconference course.

    3.    Register now.

Registration opens in September 2010. Sign up early and pay for the 2011 Assembly with 2010 funds. Learn more.

    4.    Invite a colleague.

Do you know of someone who has never been to the Assembly or hasn’t attended in many years? This is the perfect time to introduce or reacquaint him or her to the expansive offerings the AAHPM & HPNA Annual Assembly has to offer.

    5.    Explore Vancouver.
