Hospice & Palliative Care Physician

St. Edward Mercy Health Network is recruiting a Hospice and Palliative Care Physician for St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  St. Edward is a general acute-care 343-bed full-service hospital serving over a 430,000 population.  This hospital-employed position offers a very competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.

The St. Edward Department of Home, Hospice and Palliative Care was formed in 2006 to provide a continuum of care for patients with acute or chronic debilitating illnesses, and their families, from the time of diagnosis to life's close. The team is comprised of 2 BC palliative care physicians, ELNEC trained nurses with CHPN credentials, a licensed social worker, chaplain, volunteers, administrative assistants and a bereavement coordinator. 

The Division of Palliative Care Medicine provides comprehensive care provided in the hospital through the inpatient consult service at the outpatient clinic and through a home-based program.

The Division of Mercy Hospice provides comprehensive hospice care to patients in the patient's residence or in a nursing home.  St. Edward recently opened a new 12-bed hospice inpatient unit.
