The Lilian and Benjamin Hertzberg Palliative Care Institute of the Mount Sinai Medical Center & School of Medicine, located in New York City, is seeking a palliative medicine physician due to increased demand for its consult services. We are seeking the best qualified candidate for a clinician-educator position. The Mount Sinai School of Medicine is internationally recognized for innovative approaches to medical education and research. It is seamlessly connected to Mount Sinai Hospital, one of the county's oldest and largest voluntary teaching hospitals. The School's Hertzberg Palliative Care Institute is an international leader in the field of palliative medicine. The palliative medicine physician will spend approximately 50% time working with the interdisciplinary team comprised of nursing, social workers, massage and yoga therapists and a chaplain. The balance of time will be used for career development, education, program development and administration consistent with the expertise of the selectee. The qualified candidate will possess broad clinical knowledge and demonstrated experience in palliative care, strong theory-based practice, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
