Substance Abuse and Diversion SIG

Purpose

The purpose of this SIG is to help promote research into issues related to substance abuse and diversion in the palliative care and hospice population, to share information and experience regarding the treatment of patients who are affected by these issues, and to help develop policies and procedures for hospices and palliative care programs. Finally, substance abuse and diversion is an issue which affects patients and their families, but clinicians are not immune to these problems. This SIG is also be a place to address how to handle the problem of clinicians with substance abuse and diversion.
