AAHPM Membership
The American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) is the professional organization for physicians specializing in hospice and palliative medicine. Membership is also open to nurses and other healthcare providers who are committed to improving the quality of life of patients and families facing life-threatening or serious conditions. For 20 years, the Academy has dedicated itself to advancing hospice and palliative medicine and improving the care of patients with life- threatening or serious conditions. It is the only organization of its kind in the United States that supports healthcare professionals dedicated to the advancement of practice, research, and education in the field of hospice and palliative medicine. AAHPM has 4100 members and continues to grow.

JPSM is the official journal of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Members receive JPSM free each month as a benefit of membership.

Categories of Members
Physician - $395 Practicing physicianwho holds an MD, DO, or equivalent degree who are actively engaged in the field of hospice and/or palliative medicine.
Affiliate - $195 Nurse, social worker, pharmacist, or other nonphysician health care professional.
Fellow - $125 Fellow who is currently in a fellowship program with an accredited institution; documentation must be provided from the current fellowship program director.
Resident/Student - $20 Full-time resident or medical or nursing student with documentation from the dean of a current program. This is a virtual membership (electronic access only).
International Corresponding - Free Physicians at the postgraduate level who reside in a nation included on the HINARI lists of eligible countries with supporting documentation; receive electronic access only to periodicals and may not vote, hold office, or serve on AAHPM committees or task forces.
