Clinical Practice guidelines for Quality Palliative Care ReleasedThe National Consensus Project for Quality Palliative Care has released "Clinical Practice Guidelines for Quality Palliative Care, 3rd edition," which can serve as a blueprint for creating new programs and guiding developing programs. The guidelines describe elements of best practices for eight practice domains: structure and processes of care; physical aspects of care; psychological and psychiatric aspects; social aspects of care; spiritual, religious, and existential aspects of care; cultural aspects of care; care of the patient at the end of life; and ethical and legal aspects of care. The consensus project task force is comprised of the National Coalition of Hospice and Palliative Care: AAHPM, CAPC, HPNA, NPCRC and partner members of the NASW and NHPCO.
