What does a Palliative Doctor Do?

Complementary Methods

There are a number of methods besides medication that may be used to relieve pain and other symptoms. Some people find music, humor or distraction, hot or cold packs and exercise can really help. Other methods include massage therapy, biofeedback, therapeutic touch, chiropractic manipulation, pet therapy, acupuncture, hypnosis, guided imagery and cognitive and behavior therapies.

A palliative doctor or team member can help you decide if these methods might be effective for you and refer you to a provider if you are interested in pursuing them.
